TEST KNITTING CALL

Sizes: A (B, C, D, E) (F, G, H, I)


Actual garment size measured at the bust: 32” (36”, 40”, 44”, 48”) (52”, 56”, 60”, 64”) / 81cm (91cm, 101cm, 112cm, 122cm) (132cm, 142cm, 152cm, 162cm)


Choosing your size and fit: The stated measurements are for the actual garment, choose a size with your desired ease, at least 1”/2.5 cm positive ease is recommended, up to 4”/10cm positive ease will work.

 

Yarn: Sample knitted in Garthenor Beacons (135m/50g). Any yarn that meets the gauge may be used.


Yardage: 320 (350, 390, 430, 470) (500, 540, 580, 620) grams / 864 (945, 1053, 1161, 1269) (1350, 1458, 1566, 1674) metres

 

Needles: 3.5 mm & 4 mm circular needles and/or DPNs

 

Needle sizes are recommended, choose a size needed to achieve gauge, the smaller needle should be 0.5 mm smaller than the larger needle.

 

Gauge: 22 stitches & 30 rows per 4” / 10 cm in cable pattern on larger needles after blocking. If you find that your flat and in the round gauge differ a lot, check both a flat and in the round gauge swatch.


Notions: 2 spare cables or waste yarn to hold the back and shoulders, at least 1 sliding marker.


Difficulty: Intermediate/advanced. As this pattern is aimed at experienced knitters, instructions for specific special stitches are given, but general technique instructions are not given in this pattern, however all techniques are standard and tutorials can easily be found online. Techniques required for this pattern include: german short rows, cable knitting, knitting in the round, knitting from charted instructions, a folded hem, and picking up stitches.
